Hot on the heels of yesterday’s post about a possible Iranian boycott of the 2012 London Summer Games because they believe they see the words “Charlie Sheen” in the logo (I see it everywhere too), comes shocking cries of plagiarism out of Russia today regarding their Sochi 2014 mascot.
This one is not for delicate souls, so Leanne Asante, please do NOT read further!
The designer of one of the three winning mascots, a polar bear, has been accused of copying the look of the 1980 Moscow Summer Olympic mascot by its creator.
Judge for yourself. Here’s the Sochi 2014 bear:
And here’s the Moscow version:
You will have to admit the mouths are quite similar. I will never look at that cuddly Sochi polar bear in the same way again.
And pardon me for pointing it out, but isn’t there an image of Lisa Simpson giving head in the weave of the Sochi bear’s scarf?
