You don’t have to be a zombie to snag an internship

17 Mar

Meet Stephan Rosger, our current intern.

He’s as far removed from zombies as you can possibly get and yet still live amongst them.

This guy has amazing energy. But don’t take my word for it. Check out the video he made to get our attention.

A requirement of his Interactive Design Program at Capilano University in Vancouver is a 6-week unpaid internship. So he tweeted his video to a number of ad agencies to see if he would get a bite.

We bit within seconds of watching it. As luck would have it, he bit back.

What we’ve quickly learned about Steve is that his video badly misrepresented him. He doesn’t have any time to grab coffees. He’s too busy building wireframes, editing videos, doing site audits, creating online polls, designing websites and suggesting new ways of looking at things.

He also blogs and tweets great content, illustrates and sculpts. A renaissance student if ever I’ve seen one.

Damn…he’s shouting at me for coffee. Gotta run!

Hilarious spoof of the misused and abused intern, Stephan, while still getting across your main points: you’re motivated, hard-working, able to work at a fast pace, eager to please, and willing to, uh, go that extra mile to, uh, deliver, and even correct mistakes with a cheerful smile.

    Doug’s right.

If you haven’t ever seen the movie “Run, Lola, Run”, you should — who ever thought an hour of watching someone run, accompanied by driving Euro-dance beats, could be compelling? Evidently you….

We have had phenomenal fortune finding great interns Reg. Just in the past year we’ve had 3 U Vic BComm stars: Lindsay Maloney who just left us for a job at Eclipse; Ciara Capozzi who contributed today’s Lululemon blog post; and Robin Gonterman, now at Radar DDB in Vancouver…. Stephan is the latest in a lucky streak for Copeland.

Nice! Any chance his unconventional application inspired the zombie internship contest?

I think that came out of another twisted brainstorm . But he sure helped us promote the contest.

I’d better get working on my video if I’m going to compete with that. Great job Stephan!

A comedian can’t stand in front of an audience and tell them she’s funny Monica. Or so the saying goes…

Just looking back on my time spent at Copeland and all the nice comments. I’m gonna miss you all!
